This film is a romantic story of love between a young Hutsul girl and a Soviet guerrilla Andrii, whome she rescued from death having healed his wounds.

It was 1943. A daughter of a village rich man Kmet, Hutsul girl Annychka stumbles upon a wounded guerrilla Andrii and provides him with sholter. They falls in love with each other and they decide to escape to guerrilla squad... Unfortunately, Andrii gets captivated by policemen and in order to rescue him Annychka agrees to her father's request to marry a policeman Roman. During the wedding supported by a worker Yaroslav the girl rescues Andrii and three of them escape to guerrillas. Having exposed them Kmet shoots and kills his daughter.
