Dovzhenko Centre @ GOGOLFest
On September 21 the enormous workshops of the abandoned experimental mechanical plant in Vydubychi (Kyiv, Ukraine) will host a 9-day festival of contemporary art GOGOLFEST. This multidisciplinary event is the largest festival of its kind in Ukraine.
National Oleksandr Dovzhenko Centre presents the opening film of the Festival – a premiere of the newly restored version of Oleksandr Dovzhenko's classics Earth with live musical accompaniment by the iconic ethno-chaos band DakhaBrakha. The film will be presented on the 6x8 meters screen in the main stage area at 20.00.
During GOGOLFEST, Dovzhenko Centre and the SILENT NIGHTS music festival will jointly present a special program of silent films accompanied by live contemporary music. The screenings will take place in the Cinema Theatre area at 22.30.
Festival guests will see restored versions of films:
Ukrasia (1925), directed by Pyotr Chardynin.

The Diplomatic Pouch (1927), directed by Oleksandr Dovzhenko.

Kyiv part of Goethe-Institut exhibition project The Border starts on 20th June in Plivka at the National Olexander Dovzhenko Centre.
