A RETROSPECTIVE OF IVAN MYKOLAYCHUK FILMS AT MYKOLAYCHUK-FEST
To celebrate the 75th anniversary of the famous Ukrainian actor Ivan Mykolaychuk, the first All-Ukrainian Festival-Competition of Ukrainian Cinema and Song named after Ivan Mykolaychuk, MYKOLAYCHUK-FEST, will take place in Bukovyna on June 14-18. At the festival, Oleksandr Dovzhenko National Centre will demonstrate films starring Ivan Mykolaychuk, as well as his works as film director:

The purpose of the first All-Ukrainian Festival of Ukrainian Cinema and Song named after Ivan Mykolaychuk – MYKOLAYCHUK-FEST is to promote and develop the national cinema and singing art, solidarity of the people in the time of military actions in the East, to support creative initiatives and young filmmakers, actors, and artists capable of bringing Ukrainian cinema to the world standards; to promote Ukrainian national culture, folk and contemporary song; to find alternative TV-products, to establish cooperation between artists; to strengthen national forces in the struggle for national self-identity and independence.
The program of the festival includes: meetings of participants and guests in the legendary actor’s shooting locations; screenings of modern Ukrainian films and music videos; contests-concerts of Ukrainian songs featuring soloists and groups from all parts of Ukraine; a folk festival in Ivan Mykolaychuk House Museum; art meetings and master classes; shoots by a creative video folk laboratory, special events every evening – a film and a discussion with a director; a film night on the central square of Vyzhnytsia, a festival of Ukrainian singing in an open space in the Carpathians, a presentation from Mykolaychuk-Fest art studio and much more.
