From 1 to 5 of August, 2016, Artek-Bukovel Children’s Camp will be hosting the 1st FilmFestBuk Children’s Film Festival. Three contemporary Ukrainian films for children were contributed to the event by Oleksandr Dovzhenko National Centre: Ivan Syla (2013) by Viktor Andriienko, Trumpeter (2014) by Anatoliy Mateshko and claymation series My Country – Ukraine (2014).
In addition, the film program of FilmFestBuk will feature titles from the program of Children Kinofest Film Festival. Actors Anastasiia Ziurkalova, Polina Tarasenko, Alisa Lukshyna, Leonid Shevchenko and Damian Ul (Poland), as well as winner of The Voice Kids Ukraine Anna Tkach, are going to take part in the festival.
“I suggested that we do not lay any red carpets and that we invite children “stars” instead of adults. That is, the young actors who starred in the movies. They can communicate with the children’s audience as equals and can tell them how cinema has changed their lives. Besides, these young talents will hold workshops and meetings and will present their films”, commented the festival organizer Rymma Ziubina.
Kyiv part of Goethe-Institut exhibition project The Border starts on 20th June in Plivka at the National Olexander Dovzhenko Centre.
