VLAD TROITSKYI’S “... BUT FOR THE WIND...”
Vlad Troitskyi’s kinetic performance “...but for the wind…”, one of the most beautiful premières of this year’s GOGOLFEST, will be shown at Dovzhenko Centre on 18 and 19 November.
“...but for the wind…” is a parable about a first meeting, about love, about parting, about hope. Three actors are on stage, yet there are only two characters: a Man – with all his feelings, hopes and conflicts, and the Wind – silent and invisible, whose inescapable presence is the only possible form of dialogue with the Man.
Vlad Troitskyi’s show is a poetic story, not bound by space or time. A meditative performance, an allusion to the delicate and romantic style of Hayao Miyazaki.
The set is built of dozens of electric fans. Music is made from the combination of stage sounds and live drums. Video projections create a space of a fantastic dream.
The play “...but for the wind…” premièred in 2016 at GOGOLFEST International Festival of Modern Art.
